ABOUT US
"marinaSCAN" is the digital berth management system that SMBL GmbH will be presenting live with a demo system at the HAMBURG Ancora YACHTFESTIVAL 2022. A "marinaSCAN" sensor is installed at each berth, which monitors the occupancy and can simultaneously display the desired status "Occupied/Free" with coloured LEDs. The sensors report the actual status in real time to the digital port management and receive the control commands for the displayed berth status from here. If desired, automatic routines ensure that departing skippers automatically release a berth. Online bookings for berths result in an immediate occupancy display. For this purpose, bookings can also be made directly at the sensor via QR code or NFC. The harbour master can change the status directly at any time. However, he no longer has to walk around the piers for hours and keep lists in order to determine the current occupancy and - more importantly - his free capacities.
In the fourth evolutionary stage, the "marinaSCAN" sensor is located on the jetty to avoid collision damage. It uses a dual ultrasonic signal to ensure valid measurements. The free/occupied indicator is visible from a distance even in difficult lighting conditions thanks to coloured LEDs in red/green. The light intensity is automatically adjusted to the lighting situation to avoid disturbing other port users. The "marinaSCAN" sensor is powered entirely by solar energy and communicates wirelessly with its own LoRaWAN network. Thus, installation in the harbour is quick and easy. It can be freely expanded or adapted to new conditions at any time.
"The Newport" in Lübeck is the first fully equipped port to use the full potential of digitalisation. Other demonstration facilities are currently located on the Baltic Sea, Berlin, Lake Constance and in Greece.
