The most important feature of the 305 is its hull, which was designed and optimized for speeds ranging from 0 to 22 knots. The hull is designed for smaller engines such as the Volvo Penta D3 and the all-electric Torqeedo, and is built to run comfortably regardless of speed. The hull’s hydrodynamic shape means the boat has no planing threshold at all.
“Here at Nimbus, we believe that a boat should run comfortably at the speeds at which it is used. We know that Coupé owners like to cruise at speeds
between 4 and 20 knots without creating a large stern wake or consuming a lot of fuel. For the 305 Coupé, we’ve developed a hull that offers a comfortable ride across the entire speed range. In practice, the 305 has no real planing threshold and is fuel-efficient at all speeds. Speed can be adjusted to suit weather conditions, which enhances safety and comfort and allows for an optimal cruise where you can enjoy nature,” says Mats Jacobsson, Product Development Manager at Nimbus.
The 305 Coupé is based on the same Scandinavian design philosophy as its popular and award-winning sisters, the 405 and the 365 Coupé, and is another addition to Nimbus’s popular Coupé series featuring the “Sidewalk” concept.
The “Sidewalk Design” is an asymmetrical deck layout in which the side deck on the starboard side is extra wide, offering safe and generous freedom of movement. It makes moving around the boat from bow to stern much more comfortable and pleasant and allows for easy boarding and disembarking along the entire starboard side.
The Sidewalk also allows for maximum use of interior space, making the cockpit, salon, lower deck, and cabin larger than would otherwise be the case for a boat of this size. A key feature of the Nimbus Sidewalk concept is the large, flush-mounted sliding door on the starboard side. The sliding door provides quick access when moored alongside and allows the boat to be maneuvered from a stationary position on the side deck.
The helm station has been maximized to allow for the greatest possible customization and can be equipped with accessories according to individual preferences. Bonded windows with a large, curved windshield provide a magnificent panoramic view. The salon features large, open surfaces and, thanks to the choice of materials and LED lighting, is bright, airy, and cozy. The large glass roof and skylights flood the salon with natural light. The dinette offers ample space for four people to enjoy meals together but can also be easily converted into a double berth. The dining table can also be folded down into a cocktail table with glass holders, making the salon the perfect spot for social gatherings. The galley is well-equipped with a gas-heated glass-ceramic cooktop with integrated ventilation, a Corian countertop, a 65-liter refrigerator, and an optional additional fridge/freezer compartment under the sofa.
