As long as people have gone to sea, they have been afflicted by seasickness. From mild malaise, to severe courses, to total abandonment, it accompanies seafarers around the world. Nevertheless, not all people become seasick and for many who do, the symptoms disappear after 2-3 days at sea, they adapt. This adaptation process is the basis of a therapeutic approach that Thomas Bickhardt will explain in his lecture.
Seafaring psychologist and photographer, trained sailor.
Grew up in Germany, lived on the Norwegian west coast for almost 30 years. Also worked as a lighthouse keeper on Kråkenes fyr.
Head of the TILLIT Institute and moved back to Hamburg in 2023. Thomas Bickhardt has over 30 years of experience in the treatment of seasickness.
Over 50 motorboats are expected at the HMV meeting on the Elbe. The rally and the joint barbecue are a great way to round off the Hamburg Yacht Festival.
The underwater hull... for many boat owners it can only be worked on very laboriously and usually with moderate success. But a well-maintained underwater hull is the guarantor for the value retention of a yacht.
Rust on the keel, leaking rubber joint in the keel-hull connection, damp rudder blade, over-coating, osmosis?
What is osmosis, how can it be detected, how can it be prevented or remedied? Is there a professional answer to rust and corrosion in steel and aluminum?
These are the questions we will address in our lecture and, with the help of clear photographic material, we will provide an entertaining and to the point insight into the professional underwater ship refit with the technical possibilities of the specialist.
The experts at Peter Wrede Yacht Refits specialize in yacht painting and underwater hull refurbishment: osmosis prevention / remediation, corrosion protection, blasting and coating. For more than 30 years, everything we do has revolved around protecting the surfaces of yachts. With our team we realize the refit wishes of our customers in modern blasting and painting facilities at our locations in Hamburg, Neustadt, Kappeln and Greifswald.
Florian Brix, our man "at the front", has been part of the Wrede team for over 15 years and has seen just about every refit case. With his expert knowledge and great photo material, he provides insights into the professional Peter Wrede underwater ship refit.
Small cause, big effect: Pantaenius handles more than 6,000 claims every year. A large proportion of these could have been prevented with the simplest of preventive measures. Dirk Hilcken explains what boat owners can do themselves to avoid unnecessary risks on the water. The insurance expert also provides an overview of insurance policies - which ones make sense and which ones are necessary?
This year, we'll be seeing each other at a very special venue: Hamburg's marina. Let's spend a wonderful evening together, turning off our heads and turning on our voices. We'll sing our way through music history again and make plenty of room for good humor.
We are already looking forward to you!!! Be there and sing yourselves free 🙂
Help us and spread the word. We need your support and are very grateful if the whole district of Pinneberg finds out how nice the singing in Wedel is! 😊
Saturday, from 7 pm, admission € 17,-/ € 10,- reduced* (external organizer)
* The reduced prices are for pupils and students. For people with physical disabilities, all chairs can be easily replaced.
This Atlantic Challenge is known as one of the toughest rowing races in the world. The start of this annual event is in mid-December. Like all previous sailors, the race starts from the island of La Gomera (Canary Islands), more precisely in the port of San Sebastian de la Gomera. The finish port is in the Caribbean on the beautiful island of Antigua, heading west-southwest. In between there is only the Atlantic Ocean with a distance of 3000 nautical miles or about 4800 kilometers.
The second half of the Elbe Super Sailing Tour season will be heralded by the Yacht Festival Cup from 2024. It will be sailed between Hanskalbsand and the mouth of the Lühe. The regatta party will follow as part of the marina festival.
Award ceremony, free beer and free food included!
