Head of the Cruising and Leisure Sailing Department in the DSV, passionate cruising sailor for more than 35 years.
This lecture is about preparing for a cruise: from planning to taking over the yacht, putting together a good seamanship and what you can fall back on to prepare yourself.
And how can the Yachtsport-Club Deutschlands e.V. help with all this?
From 2009 to 2023, Timo Elfers worked at the DHH Chiemsee Yacht School as a sailing instructor and deputy principal. There he led DHH yachts as responsible skipper in many areas worldwide, including the Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and the Caribbean.
In his free time and on vacation, Timo Elfers sails on charter trips and enjoys discovering new sailing areas. His favorite areas include the Canary Islands and the Cyclades.
He has been able to get to know and sail many different sailing boats. Jeanneau, Bénéteau, X-Yachts, Najad and Pogo, to name but a few.
Since September 2023, I have taken on a new challenge and now work at Pantaenius Yacht Insurance.
