Oliver Ochse has been working for over 25 years as a sailing instructor and sailing trainer on planing dinghies, small keelboats and regatta yachts.
I work with the following focal points:
- Sailing coach of the MasterClass on J 70 keelboats in Pollensa on Mallorca
- Trainer for gennaker and regatta training on the Archambault M 34 "Petit Chasseur"
- Skipper and crew training on owner yachts worldwide
- Skipper and trainer at regattas worldwide
- Personal trainer on owner yachts worldwide
- Moderation of water sports topics and specialist lectures at boat shows
- Trimming and technical seminars for sailing clubs
A tear in the spinnaker can happen quickly. But it can also be repaired quickly. Spinnaker repair cloth should always be on board. For tears in the genoa or mainsail there are also small aids to repair them on board and continue sailing.

The citizen science project Sailing for Oxygen is a joint (citizen) research project between Trans-Ocean e.V. and the GEOMAR Research Center in Kiel. Sailors use a probe to help collect important data on temperature, oxygen and salt content on their trips in the Baltic Sea. The role model is Boris Herrmann, who also collects data on his trips with the Malizia in order to better understand climate change. We show how it works and how sailors can actively participate.
Marcus Warnke is a dedicated cruising sailor and has been Chairman of Trans-Ocean e.V. (TO) since 2022. In his role, he drives the further development of the association. Trans-Ocean supports long-distance and blue-water sailors with (online) seminars, worldwide bases and a lively community and promotes young talent in offshore regatta sailing. It is the initiator of the cooperation with GEOMAR.
The lecture will look back at the Baltic Sea flood of 2023, how it came about and what conditions prevailed. The aim is to discuss whether such weather conditions can now be expected more frequently. But above all, how to be better prepared next time to avoid damage. Furthermore, Dirk Hilcken will look at this and similar events from the perspective and analysis of a yacht insurance company and provide information.
Dirk Hilcken is Sales and Underwriting Coordinator at Pantaenius, Europe's leading provider of yacht insurance, and in over 20 years he has seen a lot of things that float and that owners would like to have insured. Finding the right assessment is only possible with personal experience on as many keels as possible. Having grown up on his parents' sailing boat, Dirk was long fascinated by the big-ship regatta sailing in a team. After an interlude that took him to the USA and the Caribbean with a big engine, the Hamburg native can now often be found on classic regattas with the Pantaenius safety RIB. And in an emergency, the wooden Opti built by his father is always ready to sail in the cellar.
Sebastian Wache, graduate and media meteorologist. As an experienced weather router for countless yachts worldwide, he has made a name for himself in the sailing scene. Especially in October 2023, when he was one of the few to warn of the impending Baltic Sea flood early on and thus helped to prevent further damage to boats. In addition to the weather on Schleswig-Holstein Magazin (NDR), he is also particularly active on social media, where he explains complex weather situations in a simple and understandable way.
The underwater hull... for many boat owners it can only be worked on very laboriously and usually with moderate success. But a well-maintained underwater hull is the guarantor for the value retention of a yacht.
Rust on the keel, leaking rubber joint in the keel-hull connection, damp rudder blade, over-coating, osmosis?
What is osmosis, how can it be detected, how can it be prevented or remedied? Is there a professional answer to rust and corrosion in steel and aluminum?
These are the questions we will address in our lecture and, with the help of clear photographic material, we will provide an entertaining and to the point insight into the professional underwater ship refit with the technical possibilities of the specialist.
The experts at Peter Wrede Yacht Refits specialize in yacht painting and underwater hull refurbishment: osmosis prevention / remediation, corrosion protection, blasting and coating. For more than 30 years, everything we do has revolved around protecting the surfaces of yachts. With our team we realize the refit wishes of our customers in modern blasting and painting facilities at our locations in Hamburg, Neustadt, Kappeln and Greifswald.
Florian Brix, our man "at the front", has been part of the Wrede team for over 15 years and has seen just about every refit case. With his expert knowledge and great photo material, he provides insights into the professional Peter Wrede underwater ship refit.
What is really important? What should I not do without? What do I need to look out for and how can I check my existing contract?
What do I do in the event of a claim? And how can I change the sum insured because my boat is worth more or less? And how is a value for the sum insured determined in the first place?
These and many other questions will be answered on the Yacht Festival stage by Phillip Mense, a long-standing employee of Hamburger Yacht-Versicherung.
It goes without saying that one or two anecdotes will be shared from the sewing box!
An entertaining and informative excursion into the world of yacht insurance!

A lot can go wrong when looking for a boat if you buy a yacht without a plan. I'll show you how to avoid mistakes by taking a structured approach to your boat search and not jumping the gun out of infatuation. We'll discuss how to find a boat that suits you, your planned trips and your budget, and how to avoid making mistakes in the purchase process during price negotiations, the technical assessment of the yacht and the handover.
Marie Schneider accompanies and advises boat seekers throughout Europe. After a sabbatical at sea, the doctor of economics has devoted herself entirely to her passion, boats. Her YouTube channel "MARIETIM" is the largest German-language technical sailing channel. She runs theoretical and practical seminars, always with the desire to get more women interested in sailing and technical boating know-how.
