The widespread fear of port manoeuvres has a technical and a psychological/mental side. In our demonstration we would like to give you an idea of how it can be managed to get some calmness and composure into the procedures.

Sailing is in Max Schümann's genes. As an experienced sailor and qualified naval architect, he has already made many sailing dreams come true and knows what the boat market is like. Through numerous purchase and damage appraisals, he has very good expertise in matters of damage and damage patterns.

To prevent damage, you need to understand its causes. What the cold, hard numbers from yacht insurance companies mean in the real, colorful world—and what lessons everyone can learn from them.

Whether you want to set up a new system on board or expand an existing one, learn about the options available for the NMEA network on board and how important it is to calibrate the transducers to ensure you’re getting the correct data. With add-ons like the Orca Core 2 from Orca Navigation, a Cyclops load sensor, or a Wi-Fi gateway, I can sail safely and quickly.
Instructor Oliver Ochse works as a sailing coach on an Archambault M34 regatta yacht. On board is a Garmin N2K system with additional components from Cyclops and Orca.
The data points that are particularly interesting and can aid in navigation and sailing are always covered during the sailing training sessions on board in Mallorca.

A life jacket protects its wearer from drowning and is therefore the most important lifesaver on board. After all, there are many ways to get into the water involuntarily. Another advantage: life jackets ensure that the person in the water independently turns to the supine position and thus keeps the head above water. This keeps the airways clear.

More power, less weight, and peaceful nights at anchor. LiFePO4 batteries are transforming daily life on board. This presentation offers an honest overview—what’s behind the technology, what a conversion actually entails, and what you need to consider when using modern batteries. There will be time for individual questions afterward.
Christian Binsch is an electrical engineer and the owner of CB Elektrotechnik. His expertise lies in consulting, design, and installation of electrical systems on yachts—ranging from navigation technology and lithium batteries to solar power systems. As an experienced long-distance sailor, he brings practical experience directly from everyday life on board.

More speed in light winds and on broad reaches—who wouldn’t want that? There’s a wide variety of sails available for this purpose. And there are various ways to handle these sails. In this presentation, Marco Haase from OneSails Germany will guide you through the different hoisting systems and the applications of the various sail types. Don’t worry—thanks to modern advancements in the technology and design of these sails, even smaller crews can handle all of them safely and easily!
Marco Haase is the second-generation owner of HAASE SEGEL, a sail-making business founded in 1960, which he successfully runs.
His passion for sailing began at a young age. He started out on an Optimist and can now be found sailing cruising and racing yachts on the Baltic Sea and in the Mediterranean. Thanks to his extensive sailing experience on various yachts with different sailing designs, he has comprehensive expertise in the various types of sails and their applications.
More than a decade ago, Haase Segel joined the innovative sail-making group OneSails to expand its product portfolio.
OneSalls is an association of more than 50 independent sailmakers with their own production facilities.
OneSails’ goals are:
1. To develop innovative products that benefit a broad target audience.
2. To manufacture high-quality, well-designed, and durable sails.
3. Utilizing short supply chains to keep our environmental footprint as small as possible. Most of the materials we use come from Germany or Europe.
4. Continuous professional development in all technologies through active exchange with colleagues, suppliers, and you, our customers.
5. A comprehensive range of services so you can focus on enjoying your sailing.
HAASE SEGEL serves customers in Germany, the Netherlands, and the Mediterranean.
To that end, we work with shipyards, service providers, riggers, and sailmakers. In addition to German, we also speak English, Italian, and a little rusty French.
