WHAT

The widespread fear of port manoeuvres has a technical and a psychological/mental side. In our demonstration we would like to give you an idea of how it can be managed to get some calmness and composure into the procedures.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Mara Zapp is the director of the Well Sailing school and an experienced instructor not only for harbor maneuvers.
Mara will sail and comment on the maneuvers with her (small) crew.

We are open from Friday to Sunday and invite you to a guided tour of our shipyard every hour on the hour!

On the basis of our current refit projects, you can find out about modern coating techniques above and under water. We will be happy to provide information and answer your questions on the topics of yacht painting and underwater hull refurbishment, osmosis protection and corrosion protection.

Be there live and have a refit process explained to you directly on the "living object".

We look forward to your visit! Just drop by - registration is not necessary.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Peter Wrede Yacht Refits - we are all about protecting the surfaces of yachts - we are the specialists for yacht painting and underwater hull refurbishment.

For over 30 years, the coating experts have specialized in spray painting, osmosis prevention and restoration, corrosion protection, blasting and coating. With their team of around 30 Wrede craftsmen, they implement their customers' refit requests in modern blasting and painting facilities at the Hamburg, Neustadt, Kappeln and Greifswald locations.

Together with the Schleswig-Holstein Sailing Association and its affiliated clubs, the DSV organizes the Days of Sailing on the occasion of the ancora Yacht Festival. Many a boat that has been abandoned could still have been afloat if systematic spill prevention had been carried out.
On the other hand, it is also a challenge to find the right moment to abandon the boat.
How to prepare and how to act practically is the subject of the demonstration and our MINI workshops, for which please join a registration list at our Meri Crash.

WHAT

There is a lot of talk about antifouling. Biocide-containing antifoulings in particular have a good effect, but people are trying to reduce biocides wherever possible. After all, we don't want to poison our environment.
We show which antifouling and fouling control systems are widely used. What alternatives make sense?
We discuss the distribution of biocide-containing products to end users and how they are handled abroad.
Some products are reserved for use by shipyards or professional service companies.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Helge von der Linden is Managing Director of M.u.H. von der Linden GmbH; sailor; has always been involved in environmentally friendly solutions. Over the years, much has been done to reduce biocide input. Sometimes biocide-containing antifouling should not be dispensed with. Networking with experts from research, associations and authorities as well as manufacturers gives von der Linden a good overview of developments.

WHAT

The underwater hull... for many boat owners it can only be worked on very laboriously and usually with moderate success. But a well-maintained underwater hull is the guarantor for the value retention of a yacht.
Rust on the keel, leaking rubber joint in the keel-hull connection, damp rudder blade, over-coating, osmosis?
What is osmosis, how can it be detected, how can it be prevented or remedied? Is there a professional answer to rust and corrosion in steel and aluminum?
These are the questions we will address in our lecture and, with the help of clear photographic material, we will provide an entertaining and to the point insight into the professional underwater ship refit with the technical possibilities of the specialist.

Florian Brix, our man "at the front" has been part of the Wrede team for over 15 years and has seen just about every refit case. With his expert knowledge and great photographic material, he provides insights into the professional Peter Wrede underwater ship refit.
