Water in the ship is a nightmare for most boat owners, because water ingress can cause the boat to sink. In addition to open sea valves or burst hoses, a leak in the hull is often the cause. So it's good to be able to seal a leak quickly and safely. Mara Zapp from the Well Sailing school demonstrates this on board the Meri Crash.
A lecture all about the trim of foresail and mainsail. Sailing consultant Oliver Ochse will explain how the threads in the jib help to steer the way to windward and find the perfect position of the hoist point.
The mainsail is about the throttle of the sailboat. If this sail is trimmed correctly, the boat will not only sail faster, but also more upright and with less rudder pressure. How the strings should be in the leech and how backstay, traveller and mainsheet can be used for this is explained in this lecture.
Oliver Ochse has been working for over 20 years as a sailing instructor and sailing coach on planing dinghies, small keelboats and regatta yachts.
My work focuses on the following areas:
- MasterClass sailing coach on small keelboats in Pollensa and on Lake Constance
- Trainer for gennaker and regatta training on the Archambault M 34 "Petit Chasseur".
- Skipper and crew training on owner yachts worldwide
- Skipper and trainer at regattas worldwide
- Personal trainer on owner yachts worldwide
- Moderation of water sports topics and lectures at boat shows
- Advice on the acquisition of new owner yachts worldwide
- Trim and technique seminars for sailing clubs
In her lecture, Marilena Mross explains everything "contractual" about buying a boat, informs when it makes sense to call in an expert, and whether a handshake is really enough. She also gives an overview of what a good purchase contract looks like and what it should contain.

Rainer Tatenhorst is responsible for the department of cruising and recreational sailing at the DSV. The experienced skipper and instructor explains in his lecture how sailing works. So very simple... for everyone.
As long as people have gone to sea, they have been afflicted by seasickness. From mild malaise, to severe progressions, to total abandonment, it accompanies seafarers around the world. Nevertheless, not all people become seasick and for many who do, the symptoms disappear after 2-3 days at sea, they adapt. This adaptation process is the basis of a therapeutic approach that Thomas Bickhardt explains in his seminar.
You can register for the seminar at:
